Seeing Double
How often does this happen? Two horses in the same race - same sex, same breeder, same owner, same trainer, same sire,same colour! If only the jockey could ride them both!! Genny Wren, and Grassfinch are both in the fillies bumper at Fakenham today. Both nice fillies, that will want a trip in the future, but this is an ideal opportunity to debut, and it is not the strongest of races, (a one,two would be nice)! Genny is out of Wren Warbler, and is the half sister to Troglodyte, Rock Wren and Willow Wren, and Grassfinch is the first foal of Stockdove, who I remember finishing second in a bumper on debut at Uttoxeter - it was one of those days when you just walk into the unsaddling enclosure and look at each other with startled looks and say 'where did that come from??' Ogee and Bobby Gee will both miss their races tomorrow, the ground will be against Ogee, and Bobby will wait until Monday at Market Rasen, in what looks a slightly easier heat.
