Olney lad is a race horse that is six years old so has been in the race game now for three years after making his debut on October 2002 at Nottingham, the going was good to firm and was over ten furlongs, the horse came last in the race out of a field of fourteen, then made his next race in March at Hungerford the going was good and the distance was seventeen furlongs the weight was ten five Olney came in at fifth in a field of eighteen. His first win came at Uttoxeter in November 2003 the distance was twenty one furlongs and the going was good to soft, Olney Lad won by fifteen lengths to Harbour point, this was a novice handicap hurdle, since then the race horse has gone from strength to strength, his latest victory being at what seems to be his favourite track, Uttoxeter, with a soft going over twenty one furlongs and a weight of eleven eleven, the rider that day was R Garritty Olney raced wide all the way round the track, and made all the running, when he got to the seventh furlong he did his favourite trick of speeding up the race then went two clear, he then eased out heavily and finished up being seven lengths clear at the end.
The trainer of Olney Lad is Mrs P Robertson and the breeder is Mr T H Rossiter, the horse seems to be doing best at Jumps rather than the flat at the moment but with some good races coming up we are hoping to improve on this, all the winning money has come from the jumps at the moment so we are trying to get more jumps arranged when the season begins.
