Race Horse Ownership

Welcome to the Nick Brown Racing website, i first started a race horse ownership back in 1991, i started thinking of all the services that i would want as a shareholder in the horse, and the package i have come up with is hopefully exactly the sort of thing that you would want as well. I wanted something that was fun, able to allow you the enjoyment of sole ownership of a horse but was available to the public at a fraction of the cost of most horse ownership syndicates.

After a lot of investigation and working out a lot of figures, from a lot of help from good friends, i knew it was a very possible venture, but looking at the ways that some places were run i wasn't sure, that their way was what i wanted. They were trying to get as many people as they could to club together to form an ownership of the horse, to share the cost amongst them. The horse would then be given a name by the club and you could only have the chance to wear the owners badge you would have to go through a ballot to see which of the owners got the priviledge, the experience was very detracted from the buzz of the race course, what i wanted and knew my clients would want would to be a lot closer to the action, more hands on, able to go down to the paddock and see what is in essence your race horse, so that is what my ownership scheme set out to do. I am very confident that this is what i have achieved and i am sure you will be very pleased with the package on offer.

What i have done is i have created two ways of forming an ownership, so that they comply fully with the rules of racing, so you dont have to worry about that, firstly the partnership is classed as a collection of people consisting of two or more persons not exceeding twenty, and then there is what is known as a syndicate, which is of course very similar but has many more members associated with the horse and they tend to run along club rules, and more often than not have more than one horse, so i decided that partnerships were the way forward, so therefore there can only be twenty owners but i have further reduced this to ten but i would say that the best number is eight.
