The thrill of owning a winner is fantastic – the thrill you get when you have bred it can be multiplied 100 times! It is just different – I can’t explain it – it just is! And we are offering you the chance to get that thrill of breeding your very own winner!!
This is the second time we have put together a small breeding syndicate – and now is definitely the right time. The mare we are offering is our own Savingforvegas, who has been simply outstanding for us since we purchased her for a client to race in May 2015.
Savingforvegas had won her Irish Point to Point in Tralee, beating a subsequent Listed Hurdle winner by 20 lengths. She went on to win a bumper and a novice hurdle in just three subsequent starts under rules before injury curtailed her career. In her final start over hurdles in Warwick, she beat two subsequent Listed Hurdle winners – just going to show what level of form she would have achieved had she not been injured.
A half sister to Cheltenham Festival winner, Rathvinden, Listed Chase winner, Where It All Began and a host of other winners, Savingforvegas herself boasts a wonderful National Hunt pedigree, with the likes of The Big Breakaway, Kildisart and Say Goodbye featuring in her close family.
At stud she has been nothing short of sensational. She has bred 8 foals, the first 6 were all bay colts.
The first 4 to race are all winners, 3 of them have won Bumpers on their debuts.
Looking at her pedigree, you would think that Savingforvegas would produce stout stayers, when in fact, she seems to produce progeny with an abundance of speed.
One Eye On Vegas – was placed in a bumper on debut – and after a lengthy absence has won 4 times over hurdles – a great effort as he was blinded in one eye as a 2yr old!
Dino Belllagio – winner of 2 bumpers at 3 and 4 – including his debut, is one of the fastest horses at Donald McCains – he had his struggles over hurdles, but when we switched him to the flat last summer, he won 2 of his 6 handicap starts – and heads to the big meeting in Chester in May.
Old Blue Eyes – a winner of his bumper on debut, is another to show well above average speed in his homework. He got bogged down in the soft ground on his second start in a bumper in Aintree and has had a stop start season in 2025/26 – but rest assured he is a horse that is held in high regard by both his trainer, Donald McCain and jockey Brian Hughes.
Nevada Samba – was bred by our first Breeding Syndicate in 2021 and has always been a bit special – Jason Maguire broke him in as a 2yr old and at the time felt that he was one of the nicest horses we had ever had. At 3, Maguire had ‘a little look under the bonnet’ and was very pleased indeed – it confirmed what he had thought if him as a 2yr old – he was very nice. He had been at Ivy Lodge Farm with non-other than Mydaddypaddy – and Jason had been hard pressed to split them as they had gone through the system there – Mydaddypaddy was a close third in the Supreme Novices Hurdle. We have been very patient with Nevada Samba – always in the knowledge that he is a very nice horse – his trainer, Alan King has always felt he was a bit special – as you can see by who he was working with last spring!
So, it was very satisfying to see him win his bumper on debut in Wincanton. That was a very good race. Paul Nicholls who trained the second has told me how much he likes that horse, and the third had some very nice form coming into the race. Nevada Samba was the only debutant in the first 5 home and was very green throughout. He did a lot wrong and still won – he is simply a very nice horse.
Savingforvegas’ 4yr old by Falco, is another lovely looking individual who moves beautifully. He has been retained and will be syndicated to run in our colours next season – starting off in a bumper.
The 3yr old by Golden Horn was broken by Jason Maguire last year, and the plan at this stage is to retain him to run in our colours
Her 2025 foal was her first filly, a gorgeous girl by Nirvana du Berlais – and on March 15th 2026, she gave birth to a handsome strong colt again by Nirvana du Berlais!

We are offering the chance to lease 10% shares in Savingforvegas for 2026/2027. These shares will be limited as I intend to retain half of the 10 shares available.
The plan is for her to visit Kingston Hill this time – I have been very impressed with his runners recently, he gets good sized, well grown stock, which is important, and his recent results on the track have been very good, including a brace of Listed winners on the same Saturday in February, and a Cheltenham Festival winner in White Noise.
Kingston Hill was the Champion 3yr old stayer in Europe in 2014. He showed enough precocity and speed to win the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy in Doncaster as a 2yr old before finishing second in the Derby and winning the St leger.
Shares in Savingforvegas are available to lease for the term of her pregnancy, and through to the time that her foal is weaned, when the lease term in her will terminate.
The 2027 foal will be owned by the syndicate, pro rata per shareholding, and when that foal is weaned, the monthly fees will be used to keep it.
The aim at this stage is to retain the 2027 foal through to the racecourse, but of course, should the family do what we think it will and there be a host of well above average half brothers and sisters to it – there is always the option of selling at an earlier stage if the right money is on offer.
The price is structured as follows:
10% leased share in Savingforvegas May 2026 – September 2027 £150/month
(Includes shareholders share of the stallion covering fee)
10% ownership of the 2027 foal from weaning to 2yr old £150/month
10 % ownership of 2027 progeny 2yr old – 3yr old £170/month
10 % ownership – in training £350/month
