Wednesday 7 March

Just seven days to go until Colebrooke gets his go at The Cheltenham Festival! Exciting times! Sam schooled him yesterday and said he felt better than ever, so at least he goes there in great form. Saying that there is still a week to go, and as we are continually learning - anything can happen with these horses between now and then. Fingers crossed he gets there and his owners have a great day out! Having looked at all the options, the running plans of Smart Exit and Omaruru have now been finalised. SE will go to Warwick on Sunday afternoon. The races at the other venues look stronger. It will be his first crack in a handicap, and although we feel he has been given a high enough mark for what he has achieved, he continues to improve, and Sam was very pleased with him when he schooled him yesterday. Omaruru will go to Towcester next Thursday for a 2m handicap hurdle. Again this is his handicap debut, and although we were keen to up him in trip this season, the speed he showed yesterday in his work suggests that 2 miles will hold no fears. He seems to have found a gear or two now that he can breath and is 12 months older! All in all it is a big week for NBR,and the team at Fences Farm, and one that we are very much looking forward to!! I will have photos of the new filly on here over the course of the next week. As mentioned she looks strong, athletic and classy and this, allied with her fantastic pedigree she falls in the 'could be anything' bracket!
