Thursday 14 March
Well, Colebrooke was simply run off of his feet yesterday - which is kind of what we expected. They went fast and furious and the little lad just went as fast as he could, for as far as he could. Knowing that we were not going to be competitive in that field, Jamie kept him wide and out of trouble, but was just not able to keep his position - always out of his comfort zone. Knowing the game was up at the top of the hill he sat up and just let him coast home. Jamie was very sympathetic to him saying, 'I didn't even pick the stick up as he couldn't go any faster'. Colebrooke seems OK this morning so no harm done, which is a big relief as he will be winning again in the near future over a more suitable trip and at a realistic level. Omaruru is back on the road again after his untimely foot infection. The girls have worked doubly hard to get him going again as soon as possible as there is a suitable race for him in Haydock next Wednesday (for which he has been entered this morning). San Telm has been declared to run in Fakenham tomorrow (12 run), and looks to go there with place chances at least - he is in good form, Sam rides.
