Thursday 12 April
First day of the Aintree meeting today, and we saw a record breaking performance from Big Bucks, who recorded his 17th consecutive victory. Big Bucks is the ultimate equine athlete and it will be a long time before we see his like again!! At home - the Kayf Tara filly continues to impress, Omaruru is off games at least until he has his leg scanned on Monday. We will know where we go with him after that. Ogee is still on course to make his first hurdles start in a couple of years in Cheltenham next week, but unfortunately it looks as though Justazippy will miss her target at the Gloucestershire venue. Kikos has done his usual - and become a complete thug just before he runs! Annie is the latest unfortunate to get her arms wrenched from their sockets, and was suggesting we SHOULD have run him at Chepstow!!! He has a nice weight for next week if the top one stays in and will run his usual honest race!!
