Wednesday 9 May
A slow news day - so a chance to catch up on one or two of the horses that are on their breaks. Earlier this week Colebrooke had the second treatment on his joint and the vet is very happy with him, he is starting to get very bored with being locked up, and is getting pretty stroppy. The good news for him is that he can go out in the field in a couple of weeks, which will hopefully coincide with some drier and warmer weather. He should be a lot happier then! Omaruru has had his injection, and will now stand in for another 4-5 weeks. He will then have a spell on the walker before being able to go out in the paddock. Again the vet is very happy with his progress. San Telm has had his last session of 'shock wave treatment' and like Colebrooke, can hopefully go out in the field in a couple of weeks. Colebrooke and San Telm will have a nice little summer break before returning to Fences Farm in July to resume training. Colebrooke should improve for the step up to 2 1/2 miles plus and will be a lot of fun next season, and on the face of it, San Telm looks well treated and should be back in the winners circle in no time at all!! Smart Exit, whos form is looking pretty good now is enjoying his summer at grass, and will have a breathing op before his return to Fences in late July/early August. Even with his wind issues last season he showed us enough,a fact that is being backed up by the number of horses that have finished behind him going on to win races, so when we get that sorted, he should be going very well next season! Further news on Tara Dancer tomorrow.
