Monday 18 June

Colebrooke has at last made it out on his summer holidays! He has had some treatment on one or two minor injuries incurred at the end of last season, and was due to hit the beaches (go out in the field) a couple of weekes ago, but the night before he was to go he managed to get himself cast and cut his lower leg. Pleased to say that this has now cleared up, and he went out for the first time over the weekend. He will have about a month out at grass before returning to Fences Farm. All of the other horses on their breaks look well. Omaruru is recovering from his injury and the vet is satisfied on his progress. He will go out in a few weeks. We will make a decision about Tara Dancer early next week, but in all honestly it does rather look as though we need to turn her away for a while and let her grow into her very large frame. She is too weak to do herself justice at the moment. This was always a scenario that may raise its head, and is the reason that I was unwilling to sell shares in her from the beginning. Those that have an interest in her will still be able to go to the races as I will bring recent purchase Tannerman off of the subs bench to run for you in the meantime. Tannerman is due to have his breathing operation in early to mid July, and will be starting his exercise directly afterwards. He has a rating, which was achieved while he had serious breathing issues, so after his op, he should be well handicapped to win both over hurdles and fences!! He should provide plenty of fun for his owners while TD is strengthening up!! I will confirm this when we have decided the proper course of action next week! Please don't forget the cricket match on Friday evening at Eversholt CC. The hog roast is booked, and it looks like the weather gods will be treating us well, and it looks like it will be dry - so come down for a pint and a pig roll, and a good few laughs!! It is all in aid of The Injured Jockeys fund, so please come along and support it, and raise some funds to look after these brave lads when they suffer injuries providing us with top class sport!! Hopefully we will have one or two of the lads that have ridden for us over the past season there, which always makes for a good laugh!!
