Friday 29 June
We are back off to our happy hunting ground on Sunday, when Kikos runs in Uttoxeter in the 5.10, the 2 mile handicap chase. We have had loads of fun and success at the Staffordshire track, and hopefully on Sunday we can add to the tally!! Kikos was scoped this morning to confirm his well being, and the scope was OK. The ground has gone Good To Soft, Good in places after the deluge that went across there, and most of the North Midlands and North East yesterday afternoon. With a dry forecast it should get back to Good by Sunday. In a slight departure from the norm. Kikos will be sporting sheepskin cheekpieces for the first time. He has a habit of waiting for his rivals after the last, and the application of the headgear should just focus his mind. He schooled in them this morning and they certainly made a difference - so hopefully he will go well!! Sam takes the ride (no Royal Ascot to go to on Sunday)! and hopefully the pair of them will have a good safe spin and enjoy themselves! A productive meeting last night - well it was in a beer garden! And if we are lucky we should be getting a nice 3 yr old off the flat to go juvenile hurdling with this winter!
