Monday 23 July

At last!! Some sunshine - which will at least mean that Kikos should get his favoured quick ground on Thursday in Uttoxeter, (race time 4.00pm). He seems back to his best, and did a very solid piece of work on Saturday, tucked in behind E Major and The Fonz. San Telm and Colebrooke both look in great order, and so much happier to be out of the rain and wind they have had to endure all 'summer'. Tannerman has had front shoes put on and continues his conditioning work on the walker at Michael and Fionas. We have finally got a certain date for his op, which is next Monday. I can only apologise to owners about the uncertainty surrounding the date of the op, but Geoff Lane is a hard man to tie down, but as he is probably the worlds leading authority in the field of breathing operations he is worth the wait. We have had a very good success rate with the operations he has performed for us in the past. At least the time has not been wasted and Tannerman has been on the walker for a few weeks, so he will not be back at Fences Farm long before he gets cantering. Smart Exit will have his op on the same day, and both will return to Michael and Fionas after their ops to recouperate, and when their incisions are healed they will head back to Fences Farm.
