Saturday 8 September
A gorgeous morning on top of the hill, and a few folks in to see their horses. First lot I was alone on the hill to see Benefit Cut swing on off the top with E Major. Benny is a very nice horse and continues to impress, breezing very easily with EM. Smart Exit looked in good form as he joined them in behind for one canter. He has come on really well since his return, and looks a million dollars! After breakfast we were joined by John Bird, Chris and Judy Tombs, Bob Graham and Ollie Cresswell, and they saw Kikos give The Fonz a good quick lead in a piece of work. Kikos really enjoyed himself, and TF worked very well. Fonzie is entered in Uttoxeter on Wednesday. In behind these two were Colebrooke and San Telm who strode on in good fashion. Colebrooke has really put some flesh on, and will need to do plenty of work to get himself in shape. On the other hand San Telm keeps himself fit just standing in his box, and he looks in great order and is full of his usual zest! John, Chris, Judy, and Bob all have a share in Tannerman and he did a nice canter on his own. After work they all had a good close up look at this fine big horse in his box, as he is such a gent. I think they would all take him home given the chance!! Third lot we saw Ogee swing along well with Genny Wren with a few others doing just one canter. All in all a really fun morning - and as we always say - all dreams intact!!
