Friday 12 October
We have hit the pause button with Colebrooke, and instead of heading over the Severn Bridge to Chepstow tomorrow, he will now head north to Wetherby on Wednesday. After an overnight downpour, the ground at Chepstow is very soft, and the last thing we want to do is pull him about on his seasonal debut and put the rest of his year in the balance. Allied with this, the race up north looks a little weaker, and the extra 2 furlongs will suit. Next week is starting to look pretty busy with runners on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday - good job all the potatoes are in the store!! Tannerman is an intended runner in Huntingdon on Tuesday, Colebrooke now Wednesday, Benefit Cut Thursday, Ogee Friday and Kikos Sunday. Will all those Kikos owners who are coming to Kempton for his final race before his retirement on Sunday 21st please let me know, as I will crack on and organise a box for the day.
