Tuesday 23 October
I fielded plenty of calls yesterday about potential homes for the newly retired Kikos. I will look at the options and make sure that we do the very best for him. Handicap ratings are published this morning, and the only mover and shaker in the charts this week is Colebrooke who has been dropped 4lbs to a mark of 125. This is good news as it opens up many more options for him, and allows him to drop in grade, it also gives us the option of running in the boys race at Cheltenhams Open Meeting in mid November, after possibly returning to Wetherby earlier in the month. Unfortunately Benefit cut was still not 100% yesterday, and has switched antibiotics. He will be re-scoped next week after which he will hopefully be entered in Huntingdon, Kempton and Market Rasen.Yesterday,Tannerman had his first canter back after having his back jabbed and moved well, he can have entries from Saturday 3 November, but looks likely to go to Huntingdon on 13th. Smart Exit is in good form and we have targetted races at Wetherby on Nov 2nd or Huntingdon on Nov 4th for him. San Telm looks likely to step up to 2 1/2 miles in Haydock on 31st October. I made a couple of calls about possible replacements for Kikos yesterday, and will follow up some leads today. The plan is to replace the old boy with another suitable recruit, and it seems as though all of his enthusiastic owners wish to remain in with the new boy which is great news!! I will let everyone know when we have something!
