Smart Exit has two entries at the weekend - in Market Rasen and Huntingdon - both handicap chases. Although entered it will need the weather forecast to be wrong for him to run. The ground at both courses is on the quick side which means he will not run. SE has a round action and definitely needs some cut in the ground (although he does not need the very testing conditions he has encountered the last twice), and will not be risked on anything quicker than good to soft. The Market rasen race looks the better option, so lets hope the rain they are due on Thursday night is heavy enough to change the ground! If he fails to get his preferred surface we will wait to see if we get any rain around the end of the month when there are a couple more races for him, and if not he will be going on his holidays. Tannerman and Amistress this evening in Towcester, with Paddy Brennan having his first ride for the yard on the latter. PB is a top class jockey and a welcome addition to the roster of Fences Farm Jockeys, as is Thomas Garner who also makes his debut for the yard on Tannerman, and will be very useful in conditional jockeys races in the future.
