Thursday 25 April
I have always stated that I will never let a situation arise where I feel Nick Brown Racing is wasting peoples time and money. For this reason we have had a long hard look at Tannermans performance on Tuesday evening, and after taking veterinary advice, we have made the tough decision to put him on the transfer list. Ted is a lovely horse, but unfortunately, his future as a racehorse looks a limited one, so he is better off going and doing another discipline. I do not feel that the members will get any value for money out of him, and certainly don't think it is fair on the horse himself! I know that some of you have become very attached to Ted, but really the best thing for him is to go and do something different. Rest assured he will be missed at Fences Farm, but a good caring home will be found for him, where he will be looked after and used. The good news is that Tara Dancer will take his place at the yard next week, and will carry the colours over the summer. There are 2 very big sales during May in Doncaster and Cheltenham, and I will be buying a better standard of horse to replace Tannerman at one of them, so we will retain our aim of providing all year round racing. There are several horses around that I have had my eye on for a while, and I will also use our contacts overseas to see if we can secure a bargain from either Ireland or France.
