Wednesday 26 June

Most of the news this week concerns Fridays Big Bash Charity Cricket match, and I begin today with quite literally a 'Parish Notice'. Those that have been to Eversholt CC will know that it is a beautiful and quaint ground, and we are very lucky to get to play there. This produces its own problems - notably parking, and I have been asked by the Club to ask all of you who are attending to please park in the Village Hall car parks at the far end of the ground, as otherwise the lane does become very congested. For those who have not been there before, the Village Hall is the brick building at the opposite end of the ground from the Church. Thanks in advance. Everything is now in place, and we are even working on getting some music to signal boundaries and wickets!! We will obviously hold auditions for Dancing Girls on the evening!! The beer stocks have been checked - and all is well on that score!! Back at the yard and horse news - disappointing news regarding Amistress. It was always the plan to run her through this summer on her favoured quicker ground and then head off into retirement and the paddocks. Unfortunately this has come about quicker than anticipated, as she has suffered a minor injury during her last run that will put her off games for a while. It will mean that her ground would be gone by the time she was ready to run again, and so she retires early. The injury is only very minor and she is out enjoying herself in the field, and will now head off to be a Mum.with a possible visits to Yeats on the cards!
