Tuesday 14 July
Smart Exit has recovered from his general anaesthetic, and was back up on his feet last night. Always a worry when a big animal has a GA, but he has come through it fine, and will be back at Fences Farm at lunchtime. He will have a spell on the walker now, and be ready to crack on with in a couple of weeks. Cauterising his soft palate, should prevent it from dislocating, and aid his breathing, The cross noseband that he wears does help with this a great deal, as it prevents him breathing through his mouth and pushing up the palate, but we felt that, as we know that he is struggling in that area again, then now was the time to get it sorted.
