Dawn Commander is all set to run in Worcester next week. He has been working really well, and is starting to act the goat at the bottom of the gallop, so he is showing them he is ready to run! With just 10 entries, he looks sure to get the small field he prefers, and if the ground stays on the quick side he should run well. He will be sporting a bit if headgear for us for the first time to help him travel early, and if they work he should go very well! Stuart and I paid a flying visit to The Elms Stud this afternoon to see a couple of horses that are there. Both looked really well. One of them is Ben Turners, Savingforvegas. SFV was purchased at the Cheltenham sales in May, after winning an Irish Point to Point by 20 lengths, and is a half sister to the very talented Rathvinden. SFV was very tired after a very hectic spring, and has taken her time to come right, but she looks really well now, and will return to Fences Farm in about a week to start her career under rules. She will start off in bumpers. A mares novice hurdle has been added to the list of races at the Cheltenham Festival. A great initiative, and one that will encourage the purchase and racing of jump mares. Who knows, either or both Savingforvegas and Native Princess could make it there next spring. I still have one share left in Native Princess, so if you fancy living the dream, and having the chance to run at the 2016 Cheltenham Festival, get in touch. She has won her bumper, and is great value for money!!
