Kindly invited to Towcester this afternoon as a guest of Mick White (San Telm/Smart Exit). We arrived in, what has become normal weather conditions - bloody wet and bloody windy. I grabbed a coffee in the owners marquee before we sat down for lunch, and I thought it was going to take off!! A cracking lunch - I can recommend it to anyone, and a very enjoyable afternoon was had! The racing was average, and the heavy ground found a great many horses out - but we were racing, and we have to be grateful for that, as many meetings are currently falling foul of the weather! Great to see a number of owners and members brave the elements!! With Fakenham currently waterlogged in places, the chances of San Telm taking up his engagement there next week look less and less likely with every drop of rain, but we will wait and see if the forecast is right!
