Tuesday 15 November

Bold Conquest is declared in the 4.05 in Chepstow tomorrow. A competitive 18 runner handicap, it will not be easy, but he is in great heart, and scoped clean this morning. Brendan Powell takes the ride, he too is in form, with a couple of winners in the last week! The vet was in this morning to scope a few, and had a quick look at Sneaking Budge's swelling. He is not alarmed, and SB will continue with light exercise as planned this week - he will lead the 'babies' in their trots and canters - I hope he doesn't teach them his 'goofy' habits!! The vet will have another look at him on Friday when he is in. Looking back at his run on Saturday, it was very similar to his first run over hurdles last season, where he was too keen and stopped quickly after a bad mistake - and we all know what he did next time up!! He will be fine back over a suitable 2 miles. Chandos Belle has her entry in Chelmsford on Monday. From what I know about the flat (not a Geek on flat form) it looks a warm contest with a number of proven stayers, and a few that look as though they would benefit from a step up in trip! She will also have an entry in Wolverhampton on Wednesday 23rd, in a fillies handicap over 1m 4f - and we will choose the best option, if we can!! Paddy Thedeejay makes the trip to Chepstow with BC tomorrow. Underbidder on one in France last night - guess what - another Mamool - the full brother to the yearling I purchased a couple of weeks ago - sadly not to be this time - but we continue the hunt for another 25 strong syndicate horse! We will turn our attentions to the Irish scene!
