Cloonacool is declared run in Sandowns concluding 2 mile handicap hurdle tomorrow (3.35). He ran just 11 days ago in Kemopton, and although not beaten miles he did disappoint me a little in his finishing effort. Cloonacool has always been a bit cute, we have seen him pull himself up in front before, and for some time now I have had the feeling that he has a bit more to give, including when he won in Ludlow at this time last year over fences. There seems to be a theme appearing with him - he travels like a very good horse in his races, but recently - when the race has really developed, and push has come to shove, he has been left wanting. Hopefully the blinkers will help him and he can run well - if they work he must be well handicapped! Paddy Brennan takes the ride. I have managed to secure the last hospitality box in Sandown, so that everyone that can make it tomorrow will get an Owners and Trainers Badge. Sandown as ever have been very accomodating and I thank them for their help.
