Thursday 12 January

We beat the snow this morning - and good to see Paul Wells in this morning to see his horses, joined by his friends Phil and Mary Beresford. After breakfast they got to see Maria's Benefit breeze off the top with Land League. MB is in fine form, and really impresses, as does Land League, who went really well this morning, and has his first entry since joining us (in Market Rasen) next Wednesday. Cloonacool and Molly Childers both cantered, and looked in great shape. Third lot we saw Pauls horse Kingsley breeze off the top with the Flemnsfirth filly (Frankie). She is tough and goes well, but it was hard not to be impressed by Kingsley, who showed himself to be a very smart prospect. Paul has two very nice prospects! After a morning at Fences Farm it was great to pop over to The Elms Stud to see the horses there. I did in fact follow Pull Together, who left Fences Farm this morning to have an easy spell over at The Elms - he has settled in well. Also over at the stud is Sumu, the 2 yr old Mamool, who has an awful lot of quality about him, and Ben Turners 2 yr old, Franc Roc, and his Savingforvegas who is due to foal at the end of next month. They both look great!
