A wet morning for a mid week trip to Fences Farm. A nice peaceful morning with the trainer absent. It was still dark as they pulled out, but thankfully was just bright enough when they cantered. I was there primarily to see Camaro work. It was the first time I have seen this exciting addition to the yard on the gallops, and he certainly didn't disappoint, striding on really well, and showing plenty of speed. He pulled clear of his workmate, with Alice at pains not to ask him any questions, as he is still short of full fitness. The sight of him this morning certainly brightened up a dull morning! He is FOR SALE - and looks like a very tidy bumper prospect for the spring! Hillcrest Fire makes the trip to Ludlow this afternoon for their concluding fillies juvenile hurdle. She has been in great form at home, and a line can be drawn though her last run, when she was far too keen in very heavy ground in a Listed contest in Aintree. Although she likes a soft surface, that was bottomless, and todays ground should be much more to her liking. Good luck to her owners Jim and Maria Humberstone. It was good to see Pull Togethers form franked yesterday in Doncaster, and he will head to Leicester later this month, along with Kaloci, and Sneaking Budge. Chandos Belle will be stepped back down to 2 miles, and will have an entry in Fakenham, where she was running well until she choked earlier in the season. CBelle is in great heart, and is as well as she has ever been since she arrived. Hopefully her turn isn't far away! Classic Ben is also in fine form, and will be stepped up in grade, and head to Doncaster on the 27th. He will also step up in trip, and although he is likely to have it all to do, we feel that this is the right step with him, rather than carry a double penalty in a normal novice. He isn't ready for handicap company yet! He has a very similar profile to Clondaw Native, and both of these lovely novice prospects, will have entries in The Cheltenham Festival, and their next runs will determine if they take up these engagements or not. It is really exciting that from such a small yard, Stuart could have a 4-5 runners in Cheltenham in March, and all of them will be young horses with really nice futures. Cloonacool and Land League are having an easier couple of weeks, and will be ready to go in February when we are through the worst of the bad weather and bad ground. Apasionado is looking great, and is doing 3 strong canters - he too will be out again in around 6 weeks. Quuenohearts' form was franked in style on Saturday, when the winner of her Chepstow debut, bolted in on his second start (with a penalty), earning the highest Timeform rating for a bumper horse this season. QOH is in good order, just doing one canter, and will head to the Listed Bumper for fillies and mares in Sandown in early March. Molly Childers is also in good form, and will be out in February.
